You’ve spent years holding everything together.
You’re capable, dependable and successful on the outside.
But underneath it all, you may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected from yourself.
If you’ve ever wondered why insight alone hasn’t created the change you’re looking for, you’re not alone.
This may sound familiar.
✓ You overthink conversations long after they happen.
✓ You struggle to rest without guilty.
✓ You feel responsible for everyone else’s emotions.
✓ You constantly push yourself to do more.
✓ You have a hard time accepting support.
✓ You know why you do these things, but you still feel stuck.
Hi, I’m Sonia.
Over the years, I've become increasingly fascinated by the ways trauma and difficult life experiences can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world.
One thing I've learned is that having insight alone doesn't always create lasting change. You can understand where a pattern comes from and still feel stuck repeating it.
That understanding is what led me to specialize in EMDR therapy. I believe meaningful healing happens when we address not only what we know logically, but also the experiences that continue to affect us emotionally and physically.
Today, I help high-achievers move beyond the survival strategies that once helped them cope so they can experience greater confidence, peace, and freedom in their lives and relationships.
What it’s like to sit across from me
My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct.
I believe therapy is most effective when you feel both supported and challenged. My goal is to create a space where you can explore difficult experiences without fear of judgment while also moving toward meaningful change.
I won't push you to talk about something before you're ready. At the same time, I won't shy away from helping you examine the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be contributing to the struggles that brought you to therapy.
Together, we'll work to understand not only what is happening in your life today, but also how past experiences may still be influencing the way you think, feel, and respond. Using EMDR, we'll focus on helping your nervous system process experiences that insight alone hasn't been able to resolve.
Because lasting change often requires more than understanding why a pattern exists. It requires helping your mind and body experience something different.
